Twisted Moscow Mule Recipes – Strawberry Basil & Jalapeno Versions

Chasin Unicorns Strawberry Basil Moscow Mule Cocktail Recipe Drink Mixology Voxx Vodka Ingredients

We love a good cocktail over here at Chasin’ Unicorns! Moscow Mules are a fairly easy drink to make, and you can change them up in so many ways so you will never get bored.  The ‘Moscow’ speaks to the vodka aspect of a ‘mule’ cocktail, which means you can switch it up based on your alcohol preference as well.  Here are just a few of the other options.

– Kentucky Mule: Bourbon
– Mexican or Mayan Mule: Tequila
– Jamaican Mule: Rum
– The Morgan Mule: Captain Morgan

Here are two variations on a classic vodka Moscow Mule:

These were delicious with some homemade street tacos!

While we love a hint of traditional sometimes, we are always looking to switch things up.  So we opted not to put them in a traditional copper cup, and also wanted to have a little fun.  We made fun round ice cubes by using the Chillz Ice Ball Makers.  We will show you how to add fruit or garnish to them later!

Jo’s Take:
I love the addition of basil in cocktails these days.  It adds this whole other element!  And the jalapenos just make the classic Moscow Mule have a super fresh feel to them, they seem lighter some how. Not even spicy (unless you maybe add a whole jalapeno).  My two cents on the ice cubes… make sure you have ample time to freeze because they definitely take longer. : )

Sam’s Take: Is it 5 o’clock yet? PS. I just added a basil plant in my kitchen, I add its leafs to my waters, meals and sometimes just eat a few every now and then. Basil is a great source of vitamin K, manganese, copper and vitamin C  – even in a Moscow Mule 😉 so don’t be afraid to add a little more than normal.
