Homeopathy principles state that the more diluted from the original substance a remedy is the more potent it becomes. This is the result of increasing the concentration of the essence of that substance. Finally, the solution is then made into a pellet or tablet with lactose and/or sucrose, which are both sugar enzymes. You can find these treatments at many health food stores or online which makes self-treatment of acute illnesses very easy! If you are looking to do some self-treatment, make sure to do your research and look for FDA regulated remedies (sometimes online remedies are not regulated the same way remedies sold in health food stores are!). If you are unfamiliar with homeopathy remedies or the practice in general or are trying to treat a chronic illness, I would suggest first doing a consultation with a license homeopathic doctor!
Traditionally, homeopathic doctors will go over their patient’s entire medical history as well as review all of their symptoms within the three sections of health (physical, mental, & emotional) as well as their sleep and eating habits. Once all of that information is considered, the doctor will prescribe one homeopathic remedy for the patient to try. With modern homeopathic treatments the consultation stays the same, however; combination remedies have become more popular for certain treatments. Depending on your insurance these consultations may not be covered by your health insurance, but these services don’t typically cost as much a seeing a traditional doctor and you won’t be prescribe any pricey prescription medications!
