Taking care of our body is super duper important, and taking healthy baths is a big part of that both physically and mentally.  But frequent baths also means frequent use for your bathtub… and you can’t neglect it!

Think about what you are putting down your drain after taking a bath, maybe some color  (we hope it is NATURAL), possibly some roses or lavender bits, but the real drain killer…. coconut oil.  Sure when you are relaxing in your bath it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but remember what happens to a jar of coconut oil in the cold… that’s right, it becomes a SOLID!  You don’t want your drain doing that do you?!?!

Every month or so, take a few minutes out of your day to fill up your tub with hot water and an oil fighting soap. Once the tub is full soapy water, release the water all at once.  This will help push through any build up you might have stuck down there.  PS, you should do this to your kitchen sink too to prevent backups.

Another biggie is the ring that might develop around your tub from colored bath bombs like The Black Pearl.  Often times you will end up with the ring not necessarily because of how the bomb is made.  The coconut oil and color will adhere to soap scum leftover in the tub from previous use.  Be sure to give your tub a little cleaning scrub to get rid of this yuckiness.  A soft towel, some soapy water and maybe a touch of baking soda is a great way to go.  Remember to do whatever is best for the finish of your tub, we aren’t cleaning professionals over here. : ) Test a spot if you are worried.  And remember to always rinse your tub after using a bath bomb, this is the easiest time to clean it!

Just like anything else in life, the more you use it, the more you have to care for it!
